STOLEN TRAILER

A cousin of mine, a contractor, had his construction (dual-axle, dumping) trailer stolen not long ago. He drove around surrounding neighborhoods and eventually spotted it not too far from his house... pulled up, hitched it up, and brought it home. Thieves can be pretty stupid too.

Hey Guys ....

sometime last night someone took my BigTex 22GN 30+5 gooseneck trailer from my office at Pompano Beach Florida

In the trialer world a kinda unique setup .... double dually axles, 30 foot deck w. full 5 foot ramps ( not many of them get made/ sold and or pp are willing to pay up for )

what makes mine unique
A, it was a 5th wheel setup ( not ball - gooseneck )

B, just re-decked it w. Marien grade PT actual 2"x10" Lumber ( bc of that, lumber is now 1/2" above deck rails )

C, unique and old Decals on the back of ramps

Its not a small item to hide and can be only towed by a semi truck ot dually truck w. 5th wheel hitch setup .... so it cant go to fare ...........

In late 2022 I restored my 02 7.3 F350 to new ... ( stupid money w. tons of very hard to find OEM Parts ) THANKS RANDY !
every molding, gasket, grill, lights, mirrors inc all seats got replaced for brand new OEM or OEM plus ... you know "my forever truck "

well, on Monday night someone really needed it aka stole it.

why ? Its a 23 year old truck. yes its like new and its low mileage what makes its value.
BUT
Its a dually, it wont fit into a container. Subsequently you not shipping it out of the country. and just to strip it for parts ? how much money can you get ?

i just dont understand .....why ?..... Its a rare, red - single color 7.3 ... its doesn't get unnoticed

This Red truck was super nice. like brand new with a pretty hot 7.3 in it. Franko called me last night. This crap happens to a guy the helps every one. Hurricane , flood, it dont matter Franko is there with a trailer load of generators or a camper for someone in need. Then he gets his shit stolen. This one has hit hard, please keep a look out for this truck. it has probably made the midnight run to Mexico already but keep a look out. He has pictures and video and had a tracker in this red truck. he found the tracker in the parking lot. There must be software that locates them.

So sorry to hear this, I sent the pictures to my brother, he is a captain in the Keys and said he will keep an eye out. It is a longshot since taking the truck down there is a bad move on the thieves part, but if they are stupid enough to use it to haul boats, it should be seen.

Too late now but I have a basic kill switch in all of my vehicles. It doesn't guarantee the pricks won't find it (it's well hidden) but it sure slows them down and incentives them to look elsewhere.

Thieves suck…. My opinions about what should be done with them are not socially acceptable in today’s society.

I accept them, and I think a whole lot of others do as well.

Wow! This kind of stuff makes you question humanity sometimes! Florida has gotten to be horrible for getting nice older superduty trucks stolen. In the past 2 years, I've had two buddies that have lost theirs to thieves there!

Software to find a tracker? Really! That sucks! There're so many trackers available now that are far better than something like an air tag, but software is available to a thief for him to locate and remove the tracker while he's stealing your truck?!? This makes me want to buy more ammo!!! I hate a thief.....

Turns out they have now apps on phones that scans for trackers. per the videos it took them 8 minutes. to fig out that i had both batteries disconnected .
in 2023 over 7000 full size trucks got stolen in FL and over 250.000 nation wide ......... guess its a massive industry and if they want / need your truck they will get it .

Hate to hear about your truck Franko. All we can do is make it difficult, no stopping the determined.

Here the biggest issue for targeted theft is they roll in with a low profile repo truck, hook it and are gone in seconds. If it is backed in a space or has a trailer, they shift the tcase to neutral or unbolt the driveshaft before pulling in with the truck.

I've long liked the one where an automotive coil's discharge is under the driver's seat. Do it wrong and you get lit up. Bet you don't forget after the first accident! I'd put it on an oscillator circuit so it just keeps going, and going, and going.......

There's good reasons some "less civilized countries" cut the hand(s) off of thieves.

This is exactly why I drive a Ram Power Wagon with the 6.4 HEMI.
At 10 mpg, they shouldn't get too far unless I just happened to fill it up the same day it's stolen.

Just got the phoen call .... BSO ( Broward sheriff department / deputies ) found my Truck. Nancy ( my F350 ) at the moment is in an impound lot in MIraramar FL.

like i told BSO repeatedly
1, its a 23 year old rare, like new RED truck ..... it turns heads

2, at night w. its 5 white led running lights on the roof and its 2 white Led light on the mirrors it sticks out.
I live in suburbia / a city w. cameras on ervey intersection and every 1/2 mile on highways
we know the exact time the truck got stolen . IT cant be that hard to to back-track and spot the truck in any video .....

cant wait to see and collect my truck again ..............
