My brother and I will be starting on his Bronco soon, it's a 1966 full-cab with a straight six. We will be staring from the ground up and will be installing a 302. I've looked on here for any threads relating to this kind of swap, but have not found too much info. 1st question: Will the 302 bolt in with the right motor mounts or will I have to do some cutting and welding on the frame??

If someone knows of any links with this info pease point me in the right direction.

You will need to change the motor towers, trans, radiator w/mounts. Check the james duff site, I think they have a little right up about I6 to V8 conversions. My truck was a 6 at one time and the PO did horrible job with the swap, the I6 trans was still installed (it is to short) and the fire wall was smashed in to clear the heads. I welded on new towers and got the right trans and radiator for it. I am doing a frame swap so those mounts will be for sale. Let me know if you are interested.

Check the Bronco FAQ, under the Engine section. Somebody did a brief write-up for the I-6 to V8 swap.

This should get you started.

I working on doing one right now. It's not bad. But those three little words are making it take longer. You know the ones. "While I'm there"

Thanks, for the information guys. I'll probably do a build-up thread once we get started.
