While I agree with the previous posts in stating that you're asking for trouble towing that much trailer with an EB, seeing as how you have a diesel I'd strongly recommend that you install an exhaust brake. I've got them on my cummins powered Dodge trucks and they make a huge difference even when I'm not towing.....when towing I wouldn't want to be without one

I draw the line when the trailer is greater than half the weight of the rig towing it. The whole set-up has to have great brakes.

Any Lawyer wort his salt will tear you up in court no matter what you do once you exceed manufacturers recommendation. Enen if you are within manufactures spec they will go after your balls and try to proove neglagence. Kill or mame someone you going to court with a jury stacked against you.

That's too broad of a statement. Think about this...my 2017 F350 has a curb weight just shy of 7000 lbs. My bronco is between 4500 & 5000 loaded for the trail. My trailer is around 2300 lbs. So best case, the towed weight is nearly the same as the towing vehicle. Would you think twice about doing the same? And that is a light load compared to what a lot of people tow, especially if you consider commercial drivers towing a 3-place trailer.
