• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

Appears to be perhaps the very first Stroppe?

What makes you think that? It looks like owner added Stroppe accessories to me. Most likely not, but they could have been added even after all Baja production...

This Bronco was an individual special order from the owner in March of 1970.
On April 12th it drove off the Leon Ames Pacific Coast Highway Ford dealership.
The Watanabe family lineage did have some inspired interest in racing and distant family blood line actually raced the motorcycle circuit down in Baja.
From what we can recall the brother said he either went with him or remembers taking him and the Bronco over to Bill Stroppe & Associates and leaving it there for some add ons and buying some accessories as well. He said his brother was adamant about the dual shocks and roll cage being very necessary. His brother was also a licensed 'citizens radio federal communications' and set the Bronco up with radio capabilities hence the cb radio mount and antenna, cb radio is missing tho ; (
other then that, most details and history are vanished with the passing and age of his family but left behind a very cool one owner rig.

March of 1970 would probably denote Stroppe..
yea I don't think anything is implied that this is a Stroppe.
a few things for sure tho, 58,000 original miles, clean clean floors, a puffy steering wheel
and a clean organized glove box : ]

Avacado belly

here are some, underside belly pics.
Red oxide under body paint, frame, axles, components all in good shape other then the surface style rust on some of the drive train parts, no cancer or rust rot down below with exception to the original muffler/exhaust. Drive shafts and u-joints are pretty rough tho. Door jambs, pillars, backside of door hinge post/inside fender as you can see are good. The Bronco was stored for 37 years leaning to the left side/driver side which affected the body on that side more than the passenger side. Bottom lips of both side of fenders and both side rockers are still in good shape, bottom lip area of the driver door and body line took on the constant drip/condensation from storage on the lean.

Broncoblood...I see Tiger in your lower section. Oh' wait, that doesn't read right.
I'm very familiar with them. I still belong to C.A.T

yes, that Tiger is one that got away.
I ended up selling it to a museum guy, he had a couple 427 Cobras, 289 Cobras, a handfull of Shelbys from each year and he wanted my Tiger to sit in his collection ; (
a good safe home but too bad the wheels aren't turnin!

My last Tig went to Australia. Got it out of the Hollywood Hills. Like Broncos I will never over pay for either, so I do with neither.

I had a Tiger Mk1a in college. If I could only have kept all the cool cars that I owned. Loved that one

Note that the reserve is higher yet. I am guessing double that number at least. I would love to have it myself. At this price I would do it. At the reserve I would just get a new Bronco
