I'm planning to take the Stroppe racer to the annual old car show back home in Prescott, AZ, this Saturday. If anyone happens to be attending, please drop by and say hello. It's at the Watson Lake Campground on Hwy 89.

Wish I could be there! Instead we'll be sweating it out here in Washington MO at the fair. It's a balmy 90* with 70% humidity. It makes 110 feel chilly in AZ!

What time does the show start and stop? Or better yet, what time to plan to arrive and leave? I may drive up.

I hope to be there by 9:00 and will probably leave around 4:00-4:30? in the afternoon. It starts before 9:00 but I'm guessing most of the display cars won't be there real early.

Todd, it was good to meet you and get the "tour" of the Bronco. For those of you that didn't get a chance to go to the show, here are a few pics...

What a cool truck and an impressive race record.

Thanks for preserving it and getting it out so others can enjoy it.

A few more. I have to say the open exhaust sounded really good. That third pic is the pee hole in the floor.

It was a pleasure to meet you as well. Thanks for sharing the pix! I didn't even dig my camera out. Regarding the "moisture" around the pee hole in the one picture - no, someone didn't miss the target - it rained all day. The show was essentially a bust attendance-wise because it was an all-day rain rather than the typical central AZ afternoon monsoon. It ended up being a good day though because the Stroppe got a nice bath, we got to meet Reynard101 and his lovely wife, and I also met some other great folks that stopped by to chat. One old guy stopped by to tell us about how he pitted for Stroppe and Parnelli in Mexico in the early '70s and how Parnelli almost ran over him in Big Oly once. These folks just keep coming out of the woodwork.

I was also happy to see our old friend, and EB racer, Don Barlow there. Don is never short on things to talk about and my friend and I stood there for at least an hour under our umbrellas listening to him tell stories. Having his Bronco pulled out of a lakebed by a water buffalo in Mexico in one of the early races was one of the best!

Did you take your folks for a ride while you had it up there;D

Not quite :). Dad will probably get a ride at some point - Mom has a hard enough time getting into Broncitis with doors that she probably won't!

Just found the tread. It is good to see a piece of racing history in private hands and know it is being shared with the public. My kidneys hurt just thinking about running Baja in those seats though.
