Sub forums?

Just a question - does it feel like Tech Section could use more sub forums? The carb and ignition questions alone could be a very large tech forum. Engine, transmission/t-case, lift/suspension sections maybe? Just seems like we get spurts of carb questions they clog the whole forum for a while until it warms up then the suspension questions come for a few weeks etc.

Not trying to make waves just chatting.

Too many people on here don't pay any attention to putting threads in the correct forum now.
With more forums to chose from do you really expect that would get any better?

You put that comment in the wrong forum. It should be in the "off topic lounge" LOL!

I actually like it all in the tech forum. I read stuff I might not have looked at if it were in a sub forum someplace else. But I see your point. What I would like is a better search function. Have to rely on Google to find anything here. It would be nice to search for "carb" and not get every Bronco for sale that lists their carb.

No.

I read through chat and tech. If you subdivide I won't go looking through those little sub spots. In the end you will just get people asking questions with no one stopping by to give answers. Don't stick them in little corners, they will be forgotten and die.

I totally agree, I belong to some forums that do separate the tech, into to sub forums and I have had trouble getting any response, and ended up posting the same thread into other sub forums to get a response.

I tend to just hit the "latest active threads" button, but I can't say drilling down through sub forums is of much interest.

As mentioned a lot of members don't pay any attention to the forum sections we have now and some double post and purposefully ignore the forum sections just for "exposure".

X2 the search function is getting pretty worthless. A big part of why is people ignoring the forum sections we have now. One can do an advanced search here for "carb" and choose to only check certain sections of the forum, ie "tech", but because there is so much cross posted or improperly posted you end up with a lot of non related results.

Just my opinion - I try to give as much as I take from this forum.
