Surface treatment for enclosed spaces?

Starting a frame off. I'm finding plenty of steel surfaces that were never painted so I'd like to paint or coat them so humidity or water that gets into places it's not supposed to, doesn't rust these surfaces. Most of these places have some light surface rust that can't be cleaned out without dipping in acid. In Az. rust isn't a big concern but I heard there are paints that work when applied over rust.

Try KBS Coatings. Moisture cured and you don't need to completely clean all the rust off. I did my frame (see my build in my footnotes, pg 2 #27), although I had the frame media blasted first. That just skipped one of their 3 steps. You can brush or spray it on. Came out nice, just do it below 85 degrees. You can spray inside the frame with their cavity coater.

Thanks. I just can't see leaving bare steel with no coating. For dependably less than 85 degree temps I may have to wait a couple months or only do it early mornings.

You can do it at a higher temp, but you'll have to add more reducer. It covers, but the finish doesn't flow out the brush lines. Or do it at 6am like U10072 says.
