How to stop surface rust?

I have surface rust in what seems like the usual places where all these Broncos rust. I have owned my truck for 25 years where it was parked outside, so all things considered it is not awful. What do you guys use to kill it immediately? Also, what about the underneath? I have moved close to the beach so don't want to let the salt air kill it.

I like linseed oil as well as long as you don’t plan on repainting anytime in the near future.
