TBP floor pan ?

So I cut out my rusty pans last weekend and my new TBP pans arrived today. I noticed that the flange on the inner rocker panel doesn't match up like the original pans did. It seems to me that new floor pan should be flat and go under the inner rocker panel flange but the new ones have a bend pointing down. Both drivers and passengers side are like this I thought this pans were just like the original factory pans. Were earlyyears different?

Are all aftermarket pans this way?
Should I trim off the flange or just spot weld to the inside of the rocker?

Just thinking out loud since I never replaced mine, but possible driver side should be on passenger side? Or that new floor pan flange goes under the inner rocker flange?

I have never had aftermarket sheet metal fit without fitting/refabbing. They are close but need to be fitted to your specific job.

The ones I have installed were not fabricated that way. It looks like these are made so you can either cut the flange off of the new pan OR cut the original flange off of the inner rocker and attach the pan from the side. Maybe its someone's "better" idea to make the install faster or easier?
