Yep, depends on what cycle the cam is on. Unless you pull the timing cover to look at the marks or valve cover and watch the valves for a cycle or two you will not know if it is in right or not.

Its easier just to pull the #1 plug and turn the engine over till you feel air rush out the plug hole. This tells you that both valves are closed (power stroke) Then insert a stiff wire in the hole then hand turn engine till wire rises the highest out of the hole. TDC #1
