Should have made it bigger.

Hey Doug! How's the 4bt running? My friend is dropping one in a Bronco ii with a m5od-r2 and an np205.

That's what everyone says, LOL!!!! Man, I've even been second guessing myself. I'd have had to pull out more trees to do it. I'm gonna build my wife a garage this fall, 12x28. She can park there and all the lawn equipment and other stuff will go in there so I can keep the shop a SHOP!!!!!

The bronco is running great. Been on a few fishing trips with it and still driving it every day. That's awesome getting the shop up.

I can sure tell you it's a lot bigger than a 2 car garage!!!! I'll be able to adequately heat and cool this one and have room to move around. Now, it'll sure get small in a hurry if I had multiple projects in there at the same time, but with 3 kids and a wife, there's only time for one project at a time, so it'll b perfect for me! Although... Just kidding!

Just remember when the wife asks if she can put a box of sewing stuff to store in the shop and you say yes, it's all over, the shop will become a storage unit.

Oh man, it's funny you meantion that. I've already heard it from everyone I know. I've been adamant it's not a storage shed, it's a shop!!!! So to help keep it a shop, I'm building a 14x28 garage for my wife. It'll have garage doors on both sides. She can park and have storage in the back 8x14. I'm even gonna build her a bench and work area for gardening or whatever she wants to do. I'm way ahead of you brother!!! :)

Nice- looks like you're putting together a nice shop! Keep the progress coming!

It's nice after being so busy selling, buying and remodeling for the past 8 months. I have a few more wks and I'll be done with half the house. Gonna take a break on the house and get busy on the bronco after that! :)

LOL!!!! Well, not at this point. I appreciate the offer to see yours! I'm sure we'll cross paths one of these days :)

I keep saying I'll resurrect this build once I'm done with half the house remodel. I've built 3 bedrooms, an office, laundry room, mud room, bathroom, and 2 hallways complete with new electrical and plumbing! It's been a huge undertaking for sure! I'm almost done!!!

I was finally able to schedule the electric co to come out and upgrade my service. They ended up having to put in a new pole to carry the heavier wire a little higher. I installed a 320 amp meter base with new weather head and 350 mcm wire. That stuff is no fun to bend! I also added a 200 amp disconnect under the meter base to power the new shop. Later in the month I'll bury wire back to the shop and get power out there! I'm one step closer to getting back to the build!

So, I've been living vicariously through my friend. He's gone through 3 different diesels in his Bronco II. He started with a 4D55 w/ a 4D56 head. That was so gutless. So, he took the engine out and stroked it. Well, a little more power, but still gutless. So, I talked him into a 4bt. I'm telling you guys, that is sure one fun engine to drive. He's set up with a rotary VE 4bt, and HX30W turbo, M5R2 Tranny with an NP205 transfer case. He's got 33s with 3.27 gears. He also swapped out the axles to a Dana 35 and Ford 8.8 out of an explorer. I can't wait to get mine done! I was very surprised at how fast it is.

Now, here's my disclaimer...

I like diesels and I'm used to them. I've done my fair share of farming and ranching and driving big loud trucks. The 4bt is not a gas engine and is loud. As long as you soundproof the interior, it's not an issue. Vibration isn't bad either so long as you don't use just flat hard mounts and make sure the timing advance solenoid, ksb, is working properly on the VE pumps.

Anyway, I'll be back to work on mine sooner or later!
