Shift rails and interlock arrangement, shifter, and low range gearing. T is 2.46:1 and J is 2.34:1. There are also some other minor internal differences. Complete tcases with shifters can be swapped for the other type.

** which means , the J shifts can easily be altered to have front drive only with a twin stick set up , however , the possibility exists of putting one in low range while the other is in high range , which will pretty much destroy it immediately.

The T-shift will not allow you to do that (front only or mixed ranges) , even with a twin stick set-up , unless you go deep inside the t case and make modifications . The benefit of the twin stick in this case is being able to go from 2x4 to 4x4 or vice versa , hi or lo , much easier than before.

I've had my D20's in mixed ranges and never destroyed one. The only time you can get them in mixed ranges is at a complete stop. They make great parking brakes. Just don't try to drive off like that.

If you remove both interlock pills from a T-shift it will function just like a J-shift with twinsticks. The interlock for the J-shift is actually done by the flags on the end of the shift rails, not the single pill it uses.
