Got my oil pump in today so I buttoned the bottom end up. Masked it and tomorrow it will get a few coats of Ford Blue.

Will be ordering head bolts and pushrods to get it finished and ready to drop in the frame rails.

I did a lot of powder coating again today. Finished coating a bunch of misc. parts like the cage reinforcement plates, parts for my fabricated seat frames etc. I fabled up a timing pointer and PC'd it as well as the dist lock down button. Seems like a small amount but it tool a long time to get it done. Also cleaned up my bench from building the motor, waiting on a few misc parts to wrap it up and keep on chugging. Also finished color sanding and buffing the tub!

I was looking at the pics and something just didn't seem right, I kept looking, then it hit me, the timing pointer looks like it will interfere with the balancer where I saw thew material comes back to full diameter. When I got up this morning I went up to the shop and tried to rotate the crank and sure enough, it hits Sooo my project this afternoon will be to fab another new timing pointer and make sure it clears...I had so many irons in the fire going at once yesterday I just simply forgot to roll the motor over. Oh well, at least it will not cost me anything but a little time.

I used Duplicolor. It by far has been the best rattle can paint job I have done to date but I will wager with the amount of painting I have been doing I would like to attribute it to my skill set expanding. 2nd attempt at a timing pointer turned out great. Had to use my stretcher to put an arc to it.

I just read through this whole build for the second time.
This thing is so nice, you have done such a great job. And I might have missed it, but what was the stuff you used to coat the cavities on the body?. It looked sort of green in color. Also the weld nuts you used, were they the 2x or 4x?

Thank you for the compliments. The stuff I coated the cavities with is Eastwood Frame Coat. The weld nuts are 5/16-18 from Fastenal.

Any particular reason that you went with this product, instead of say a SEM seam sealer. I hope to be working on my tub soon...

Actually it is a couple of reasons. First was by the reviews, I did lots of searching and reading and it had the fewest negatives as far as odor after the fact. The next reason was price and the final was availability. I live in the sticks, it literally takes me over an hour one way to get to my paint shop and I found the Lord Fusor on Amazon and it was part of my Prime account so I can have it in 2 days if I order it as well as if I need it faster I could next day it for $7 through prime.

Running out of things to bolt on... Come on big brown truck!

Them guys can be sooo slow, I'm waiting on them too....by the end of the day!!!!;D;D;D

That motor sure is looking good!!!:cool::cool:

Thanks Ben! I sure wish it was done for SC this year but there is just so much more to do. On the bright side, the list of parts I still need has reduced quite a bit but the items that remain are all 200 plus. I will be in Townsend on Thursday so I hope to see you then.
