Not saying the new stuff, but the original 1-gasket glue-on system is horrible! I've glued on the vertical section 3 times now and it peels off the metal lip.
And the horizonal section lets water in like the window is down a quarter inch..

Anyone designed a better system?
I'd like to try a metal U-channel (for clipping around the pillar lip) that has a super soft rubber for sealing.
I mean I can get the doors to "seal" to a point you have to slam the doors, and water still gets in...

I saw your post and ordered some of the clip on weatherstripping which worked great for me as well.

nothing works better than the original 3M yellow weather strip cement. the Black version is crap and not nearly as good and not worth the effort. clean the door jamb with alcohol and the weather strip with soap and water and when dry wipe down with alcohol. wear gloves and do not touch anything with your bare hands. follow the instructions to the letter. place some masking tape strips along the jamb so as you place the weather strip you put a strip of masking tape across the weather strip as you go along. do not close the door or disrupt the job until it sits overnight.
