Heed the advice on your bumper sticker... ask first especially if your unsure! I noticed your driverside striker post brace is half gone along with a good portion of your inner/upper quarter (its all one piece) you may have to replace that whole section of sheet metal depending on how bad it is, especialy if you mentioned the section neer the taillight post is rusted out as well... more pics though and we'll try to help you decide... in the meantime you can check out what I did with mine.... http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=249119

I hadnt even noticed behind the striker. Great. The interior has a lot of those bad spots, and also poorly patched previous spots.

okay so i finally have a full day i can put into this thing. Just now poking around and of course its a fair bit worse than initially thought. The front frame is beautiful, rear by gas tank is rusted through, but ill patch that when i get to suspension. keep in mind ive never done any type of body work. so if anyone has recommendations on what tools to use, or how to go about something. please let me know.

Im going to work on taking seats and doors out to open up interior. After repairs it will be primed by me, painted, then linex, then carpet. So again, doesnt need to be restoration quality, but functional and durable would be nice.
The only tools i dont have on hand would be a plasma cutter, tube bender, and press brake.

well pulling the seats was easy since the drivers was only held in with one loose bolt, and only two on passenger side. quick release seats i suppose

Medium Copper Orange, according to Ford.

Cordova in the PPG charts.

Thanks

Well the first wave is ordered. All interior pieces and structural pieces i could see needing. Unsure of a few bed crossmembers, hopefully theyre fine. Was a tough pill to swallow thinking i was getting a body that needed minimal work.

LOL! I think we've all said the same at some point during our builds! Take your time and enjoy the process. One of the best parts of my build was when I was officially rust free! Welcome to the club!

The hard part is realising this is where i have to draw the line, and it still wont be rust free.

Okay i got everything in today. Wondering where to start/what order to go in, to make sure everything lines up the easiest. Its a one man show for now, so slow systematic approach should be better for me than gutting it and trying to start from scratch....if possible.

Doing floorpans, seat mount floor, kick panels, front and rear door jams, and all 4 small corner plates outside of the ribbed bed area. Also have two crossmembers for under the cab/one for front of bed.

Gonna be fun tweaking the floor back after what shipping did to it.

And very satisfied with Toms Bronco Parts on the timeliness and communication on my first order. Ordered sunday night, Monday 10am (7am their time) I got a call with a shipping quote. It was delivered today (Saturday) to NC from Oregon. Impressive for me not being in a hurry.

Going to slowly start to cut into it today. Probably spend most my time planning what order to go in.

One step forward, seven steps back. But relentlessly charging ahead. I only wish i had a way to get this body off the frame.
