"the sins (I mean signs) of the removal process." Lol! I get what you mean. It is getting ugly!

While beating it senseless to try to reveal the crack, the C actually turned a bit. I think it is right where I want it.

I thought I had 7* bushings, but it turned out they are 4* My before caster readings were 3.8 and 4.2. I am installing 2* C bushings. According to my math, I need about 5* of turn -or- approximately .12". I am right there. Now onto the other side, but I ran out of acetylene, so done for the night.

Okay, all back together. The road manners are slightly improved, but less than I was expecting. It still wanders a bit and the wheel does not attempt to return to center out of a turn. Maybe my math was off. I may put the old 4* C bushings back in to give me another 2*.

Ah, yes. It increases turning force but if you have power steering that’s less important.

Increasing caster increases corner jacking due to the tires leaning up on their edge, hence the return to center force increasing. It's not scrub per se, which is a function of KIA and wheel offset, but can feel similar.

To the OP, do you know what your current caster numbers are, either formally with an alignment check or even less formally with an angle finder?

I cannot get an accurate caster reading, but I did find that my toe was -5 total. I adjusted that back in, Before I add more caster, I am going to get it to the alignment shop to see exactly where I am at. With the toe in, it did seem better on a short test drive.
