An early bronco with a 351W stroked to a 408W, with AFR heads, an Edelbrock intake, and a 650 cfm carb. Behind it an AOD transmission. Full length axle swap, HP D44 in the front and 9" in the rear running 4.88 gears. Rolling on a set of chrome wheels with 35x12.50 dick cepek mud country tires. A 4'' lift kit, and a custom cage.

Question - I read somewhere that there would be oil pan clearance issues, is this true?

Thanks!

All that money and not going with EFI?

As for the oil pan, it's not generally an issue with the Ford F150 D44 if you're running 3.5" lift or more, but you didn't specify if you were running an oversized pan or not either.

The AOD is a good trans, however the 4R70W is a better trans.

Gear ratio is tough one...depending on the cam you run with your 408, I might consider 4.56's with 35's rather than 4.88's just for the added pinion strength on the 9", although if you're trying to leave the door open for larger tires later, then definitely 4.88's or 5.13's would be in order.
