Throttle cable / C4 Kickdown cable install

My throttle linkage to my Edelbrock650 has been a little stiff. Makes it a bit sketchy giving it gas in traffic. Ordered the WildHorses throttle linkage and C4 kickdown linkage but am confused. Do I have to remove the original throttle arm on the firewall?
Or if anyone that has done this that can send me a pic of how it should look?

I assume by the lenth it goes all the way down to the gas pedal. Securing it to the firewall is confusing me.

I have the carb side figured out. Just not sure how to connect it to the gas pedal. I'm guessing I have to cut the braided line and tubing significantly and just connect it to the stock linkage.
