Doing a complete frame off on a bone stock, uncut, 77 with the Ranger package. Full interior, everything original, numbers match, 110,000 miles. Time for paint . Came from the factory Wimbledon White. Originally I was going with Oxford White instead. Now some of the old guys that hang around the rod shop doing the body work are telling me to go Wimbledon white so it’s “factory correct “ said if I ever want to sell it going original will fetch me more money. Thoughts?

I don't think color matters much on resale of broncos anymore. If you're wanting it to be factory correct then maybe you should.

If it’s a repaint I don’t see the point in staying oem. Pick a popular color and you’ll get more $.

considering it's an entire frame off paint job, i'd go with whatever your heart desires. do what you want with the bronco vs thinking about the value when you sell it. a fresh, frame off resto will fetch decent coin regardless IMO

Isn’t factory Wimbledon White kinda rare? I think the white ones are pretty special IMO…

I used a Ford paint code from 1969 but didn’t really get a matching color. Over the years the paint tints have changed so that even if the shop follows the mix correctly it still isn’t the right color. I’ve read about some companies out there matching original paint but don’t have any experience with them.

Like the others, I say paint it whatever color you like. Not sure paint color has a lot of bearing on resale value.

If resale value is a priority for you, brittney blue seems to be a pretty popular color right now. Otherwise, it sounds like your preference is for white. If selling it isn’t in your near future, id say do what makes you happiest

I had a friend who was dying of cancer and i help him sell his cars. As his favorite car left he said "I had the nicest car for the next guy to enjoy because it just sat here like art". Because of this I make my car/truck into whatever I want it to be so I can enjoy it the most. Also on Broncos original is not a significant driver of price over quality of the work.

Also I assume you are going base/clear and not single stage so it is not really original from a paint stand point. Pick the color that makes your heart race.

I Think there is no wrong color, it's a lot of labor and money to paint a Bronco. I went with a Sublime Green cause I like the color so darned much! lol I like bright n cheerful colors, but as I've searched, Broncos look good in just about any color.

My first sublime green was on my '68 Jeep, then argued with myself to paint the Bronco the same and my husband agreed!

I personally do what ever I can, to keep things "original", thats what Im into. So I for sure would go original color, and an added bonus, I like WW.

I repaint mine about 9 months ago. Originally Raven Black, later painted Green, now back to Raven Black. Same comments as above in terms of color choice, etc but I am very happy I went back to the original color.
