Tire size stock height and budget lifts

Hey guys,

I'm new here but in need of some help. To make a long story short I've got a brother with an early bronco who's too broke for internet and too broke for just about anything but he's a great dad and has 4 great kids that like to go get wet in the bronco on the river.

His bronco has been cut and I believe he can run 31's with cut fenders. Is this correct? This is a daily driver and weekend play on the sand bar truck along the river. The 31x10.50's will give him a little more floatationg and while they are near bald they are free.

Somebody is trying to convince him to put F250 springs in the front and lift blocks in the back both of which I feel are way bad ideas. That being said are there any salvage hard type lift/budget lift tricks you can pass along?

Thanks

31's fit fine with cut rear fenders. They'll fit even better with a 1" WH body lift/mount, that would run about $115 or so. With my old suspension I could run a ton of trail's with the new body mount/lift and 31"s.

I would stay away from the junk yard suspension, as most will just make it ride like a brick. For cheap you could always pick up a used setup from someone locally. Used coils and leaf's seem to be fairly common on here.

I have stock suspension on a 66 cut front and rear and run 33's with no rub. I think when you get into 33's thye may rub a little on some trucks just depending on suspension sag, but mine is all original and no rub at all. Maybe stick with 31's though because come to think of it, i dont flex my suspension at all and it sounds like he does in the river. 33's would propabley rub in off roading scenarios, I wouldnt imagine that bad though.

Ditto you can run 33's with little to no rubbing. So running 31's or 32's is no problem my 71 currently has 31's with no lift. I'll also second the junkyard lifts most F250 stuff is way to stiff for a bronco.
Now back in the days before lifts were really made F150 front springs used to be swapped into broncos to gain about 1-1.5" of lift in the front. But they do tend to ride a little stiffer than bronco springs. And to gain a 1in or so in the rear blocks are fine not the best way to go but are cheap and shouldnt be a issue.
Another option would be to watch the classifieds here you may be able to find a used lift for cheap.

I have 33's on a stock 67. Slight rub on tight right turns, but I think the front end sags a little from old age.
