'Not showpieces but they are/were my Broncos for many years... One went to my good bronco brother (the '92) Mikee and my '69 went to my daughter earlier this year.

I guess that I am amazed and encouraged by all the Broncos I still see on here and in the wild doing what they are suppose to do. Here is the Action Bronco exploring a back of beyond crater just a while back.

i agree. Way back when, Broncos were inexpensive and parts were plentiful at local part stores and affordable. Now, with values through the roof, they are more of an investment. Once I got my built to the point of being tagged and driveable, I was shopping for agreed value insurance coverage. My company asked me if I was going to use it off-road since it was 4wd. I told them NO,NEVER. All of my work and money it cost me, I doubt that it will see a dirt road. I like them all, from the beaters to the top of the line builds.

I’ve tried to get an agreed value insurance on mine minus comprehensive, just for theft loss and have been told it ain’t happening. I am going to drive it, I am going to wheel it, I am going to get some body damage. But if some asshat steals it, I’d like coverage. Or if someone t bones me it would give me leverage to its value with their insurance company, it’s already insured to X value.

I am in the middle of putting mine back on the street and currently its sitting with just liability.

This question of good coverage is giving me stomach ulcers. In the end, I will just end up driving it as needed. Life is to short to have a nice ride sitting all the time and I bought it to drive and not as an investment (20 years ago)

SOMEONE on here many years ago as we were having also this same discussion. They coined the fraze..
We're not like the Mustang Boys. Where every Mustangs has to be put back to being the Best , Shinnest, the closest to Original stock Classic Mustang. no in betweens. .
While our Bronco can be the Classic STOCK Perfect factory Broncos .. all the way down to Narrowed, chopped or stretched ..Rock crawlers... Even with Chevy motors in them.. Or Possibly Plastic Camo Skins & Diesels motors in them..
WE LOVE them ALL.

I may be in the category. This is my 2nd 1st gen. My first one was 30 years again was my daily driver, take anywhere, do anything Bronco. It was a fun truck. I learned a lot working on it. With a new family it had to go. Traded it for a 93. I think I did an old thread about it. I believe I called it “ found my old friend “ I think it’s a cool story how I found it years later.
I got the bug again and bought the one I have now in 2014. I was little older , a little more money to build my dream. I’m at the point I have so much work and money it in that I’m pretty choosy when I turn the hubs.

I'm one of those who has multiple Early Broncos. I've always liked them. I have a 76 that is a dedicated trail rig that I have had the most fun with. It's street legal and has traveled the most. (AL, AR, CO, UT, TN, GA ..)

Pa I agree. Most of them when I started working on mine were beaters, plow trucks, hunting rigs or rock crawlers. I paid $2,200 for my first bronco back in 2005 and it ran and drove (poorly)! I came from Early mustangs and bump side Ford trucks. I wanted something small V8 powered, good off road, cheap, and not a Jeep. Bronco was perfect. I started with my 67 and made it multi-purpose wheel it, show it , and cruise it. Then kept on adding Broncos with different ideas for each. I think at one point I have 5 or 6 at one time. Then the economy tanked I sold all but two of them off. Got a little older started making money again and the values took off. I still managed to have 3 at one time for a while, my 67 all purpose bronco, my 70 stocker and a 75 that was going to be built into my dream bronco. Then I had had an awakening that 1. I didnt have the time I used to have t work on them 2. I wanted to spend more time with my son not always in the garage 3. The values going up meant I could get back a lot of what I had in them. I sold all of the broncos except my 67 and I probably never will sell it. I have gotten into the 6G broncos now but they are not the same as the old ones. But hell the prices of them is not far off from the EBs!

MINE Was meant to be special. But Well it's Special to me..
My gas 302 always ran hot. SO I couldn't seen to fix that.. SO AFTER ABOUT 8 O 10 YEARS of jacking ith it.
iT WAS Oneofthose trucks you went &got into for 2 months. Not a problem until you were about to crank it & show it to someone new.
It'd never cranks .
.... So since I was working at the Dodge dealership i got into 12v. more that I original was. & At that point I found the 4BT's ..& I had a customer that was a great source for 300 to 500 old cores. .
Then he turned into one of those Guys that wanted to go up on everything he owned . SO I QUIT BUYING hIs old jump. Still wish i'D HAVE BOUGHT SEVERAL MORE ..
So after I Got more familiar with the 4BT'S . & I found another web sight that really helped me get my 1st one built & into my BRONCO .. IT turned into such a Honest ... like that old farm tractor that cranked every time. EXCEPTION of bad batterys .
& THAT TIME SOMEONE SABOTAGED it & put about 2 gts on sand into my fuel system. TOOK ME about 6months to figure out what was wrong. COST ME AN INJECTION PUMP & 4 NEW INJECTORS . & ABOUT 4 mountains of work.
I still have no ideal of who might have done it. I'm telling you I don't know of any enemies. I truly have.
I don't care if someone would just rather not go to supper with me.
It truly floored me to think someone did that to me. .
But it's back to running & It never get hot . It cranks almost as good as it did ..
NOT as much fun. AS TACO My wonder Dog is good. That Bronco was not mine It was his Bronco . I was just his CHAUFFEUR ...
WHEN I got home each evening He was jumping up & down Yapping ... Daddy Daddy take me for a ride..
So we'd load up & take off me with about 4 to 6 beers & Him standing on the TACO TRAY I built just for him to ride on .. He leaned on the 6x8 inch side view on my drives side. I had to put a little chain up to the top of the door & Hooked to his harness . That was to keep him from jumping out & getting ran over .. He wanted to be fearless... After all, He was that little Guy,, with Big Daddy covering his back..NOW Skunky you don't want to mess , Kid TACO.. cause Big Daddy will shout your ass .. if you try to WHOP UP ON MR. TACO.
HE Was like going to the Bar With your best Buddy & Then you find him off with Big Porky's old fat sow...
as I said My Bronco hasn't been as much fun as when I was driving for Taco the Wonder diog.

My ole "Patches" Bronco works for a living. It's not a trailer queen, nor a high dollar build, no Coyote power, no comic book looking wheels and tires, paint that doesn't need ceramic coating nor do you worry about someone touching it! You just put gas in the tank, turn the key and tickle the 302 to life, row the gears in the ZF to your desired speed, engage the twin sticks if the mud gets slick, flip the front and rear ARBs if it really gets tuff and you need the 38 15.50 16 SSRs to find traction. You can drive it over hill and dale,
Patches Working Life 1.0.jpg
thru the mud and snow and never worry about a scratch or nick degrading your investment!

Yes, ole Patches is my working Bronco....
