I looked into this when I did the install - I found the same thing about them being too low but nothing about them being too high? The directions said muont them above a certain point. Also the belts go through the seat right at the sholder point so the pressure stopping you is concentrated on the sholders as it is suppose to be. Yea - I too would like to hear from someone with experience with this. Thanks for the concern Howdy :) Oh, they are 4 point.

Jeev...Yea not trying to come down on you all all. Just don't want to see anyone you or anyone get hurt if something bad should happen. I found this on a racing web site.

"Of course with a roll bar in place, the mounting of the shoulder straps is simplified - they mount to the harness bar which is included in almost all roll bars and cages. This is a horizontal bar which goes between the main hoop and the main diagonal. It should ideally be located a couple of inches below your shoulders, certainly not above your shoulders. Likewise, the shoulder belts should not be mounted too far below your shoulders, as they may then compress your spine in a collision. The Simpson catalogue offers a sketch which outlines proper harness mounting zones."

I wasn't able to find the sketch on the Simpson site. maybe somebody else might have a pic or a sketch of the ideal mounting point. A buddy of mine just had a full cage built for his bronco and they put that bar behind the rear seats so he could run the 5 point harness.

Oh man, that is awesome. I live up in Seattle and have a soft top in the box as well but was planning on selling it due to the likely small amount of days I'd actually get to enjoy it like that but you are making me change my mind...

I wish I had a garage to park it in or I would defintely sell the hard top.

I've never seen mine like this but the PO left it like this the whole time he had it:

Its a 3in Rancho but the front springs are really stiff, for a better ride chech out BC Broncos and James Duff.

I have the motors instaled but not wired yet :) Don't really plan on drinving in too much rain it's not my daily.

[/quote] :eek: Nice Bronco..This is a first post from another money pit owner ;D I use padding similar to that to insulate copper tubing.Its brand name is armaflex..tm..You have to split and reglue but I have seen it on lots of rollbars.
