This happened to my 67 mustang. dropped a big block/detroit locker into it. put a set of drag radials and went to the strip. green light comes on and I dump the clutch. One loud bang and I moved 1 inch(yep 1 whole inch). sheared the pinion and the driveshaft was just swinging. Note to self: upgrade leaf springs/add under ride bars!!!!

Ouch! :( You got any photos of all of that?!?!?!

My number one, out of thousands, would be letting my 75 idle in the garage without the shift linkage hooked up. Yep, you guessed it, drops into reverse. Did I mention the freshly painted, rust free, perfect drivers door was open? Well, Bronco backs up, door catches work bench, door crushes and hyperextends into front fender, I grab front bumper and try to hold it back(yeah right). Bronco proceeds to back into my $5000.00 tool box, which then is pushed into the garage wall. Yeah, that was a sad sad day.

Glad everyone got a kick out the list. My wife is the best and has put up with alot of crap with the Bronco and still maintains a smile. She has gone above and beyond with the project even driving out to NicksTrix to pick up doors while I was deployed.

We all just gotta know what line not to cross;D ;D

you all crack me up. i'm the wife, and i cleaned engine's nuts, bolts and pins in my kitchen sink and they weren't 'shiny' enough (i like things to shimmer) so i popped them in the dishwasher & for really good measure, i pushed the sanitize cycle, because everyone needs to make sure their motor doesn't get germs; i used ammonia, bleach, and vinegar-bowls and plates still come out looking like they have a film on them.
Yeah, and i didn't tell my husband. it's my f**king dishwasher, my kitchen, and my bronco-i do what i want.
oh, wait, that's because I'm the minister of finance and war!

1) Installing a ford toploader tranny
2) Cutting a clean 72 sport
3) Tearing 2 bronco's down to the frame at the same time both still in pieces!
4) Deciding to do body work and paint
5) Not installing a clutch switch (my 6 yr old son decided to start in for me while it was in first gear drove it through shop door)

Letting 10 years go by because "I can find all the parts I need at the junkyard" and finally putting the bronco back together with all new parts.
I was able to find 2 C4's, 3 core supports, 3 transfercases, 2 power steering units, original 1/2 cab, 2 full cabs, 3 d44, 1 d30, 1 complete bronco being used for parts, almost every small part, etc. etc.

FOR SALE-Many used parts, really!

1 ) Building a Dana 44 with the idea of running 37" tires ... and then skipping past the 37's for a set of 40's . Throwing more money into a D44 knowing that it just won't handle the stress but maintaining that the vehicle is much lighter than stock and it must be my driving style that keeps breaking all of the front axles and CTM u-joints ... and then replacing them with the same thing again and again . What's that saying , repeating the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome %)

2 ) Selling a 77 rust free all original for 800 bucks and a soft top with hardware .

3 ) Thinking that my private stash of good Bronco stuff would not end up on my son's bronco and then finding out that most of it was gone and he sold his bronco .

4 ) Keeping a open 5 gallon bucket of used motor oil , anywhere in the garage . This is where I found most of my tools after getting mad and throwing them .

5 ) Paying $60 a month for the past 5 years , to store bronco parts and some nick knacks . I would gladly give the bronco parts to anyone that can use them because I am still paying to store them and I need my head examined for thinking that I will ever actually need them .

6 ) Trading my perfect steel doors for a set of soft doors and inserts .

That's enough for now ... I feel stupid enough ;D ;D ;D

Regrets ... ?

Well, the only possible regret is not buying a nicer one to start with. My "quick brake job and tune up and just drive it" project ballooned into a full restoration.
12K later I now have a nice Bronco worth maybe 8K ....

But I have learned a lot and enjoyed the work - and I am happy with all the mods done so far - no no real regrets ..

Installing the Duff shifter, then installing the NP435, then installing the NV3550.

Just do it right the first time.

Taking out a smoking worn out 351W and installing a EFI 5.0

Installing a 3.5 lift and 33's. and backing out of the garage without checking the door height clearance.

Getting internet.

Ive spent way more $$ on the bronco than otherwise.

Sold a rust free 77 for $2800, thought it was great because I only had $1600 in it!
