The Ford RUG/HEH 4 speed toploader is one of the most simple, durable, and maintainable transmissions ever produced. With the proper replacement parts, it goes together easily, and without any shims, or select fit parts.

You don't need knowledge or skill to build one. You just need someone that has an excellent reputation and a shop that will be in existence to honor any future warranty that you might need.

Do you have a specific question or issue? Maybe someone on the board can help.

Yep. Back in the 70s and 80s, swapping one of those bullet-proof 4-speeds in for the factory EB 3-speed was a very common upgrade. Not so much today, when some versions of the RUG sell for over 2 grand to the Mustang/Torino etc restoration market.
