Does anyone have photos of how they mounted the tow bar to their bronco?

https://www.harborfreight.com/5000-l...bar-61625.html

I’m buying this one to tow a few miles and wanted to see how you guys mounted to the frame?

Was going to get a 2.5 in piece of tubing to fit between frame rails and bolt and weld it in place but was hoping you had better ideas

I made my own front bumper and built it around using it for flat towing. I used the static type tow bar that couples to a ball mounted hitch for a few years. I quickly learned that they’re a PITA! Has to be level, hard to line up, even harder to disconnect! I bought the telescoping Blue-Ox tow bar and it’s worth every penny with the amount of use I use it.

Here is my reply when you asked this question in a different thread.

Not that you want to copy me, but I made my own bumper and tow bar. I made bumper mount / D-ring mounts that go into the end of each frame rail and cut holes in a piece of C-channel to fit over them. So my bumper is welded to my D-ring mounts which are bolted to the frame.

The tow bar attaches to the D-ring mounts with a couple of 3/4" pivot pins. So it's solid!

By the way, having the tow bar angled down to the tow rig like it is in the pictures is not a great idea. I've since got a draw bar with a lot more rise to level it out.

Rigid tow bars aren't any harder to line up and connect than a tandem axle trailer. But they aren't any easier either! I've seen someone hook up with one of those telescoping designs. That was slick! They released a couple of locks and just hooked it up even though they were probably off by a foot. Then just drove off and it locked back in after the first turn or two.

(For disconnecting I use a Hi-Lift jack. That works very easily, even if it's loaded up a bit. But it does require getting the Hi-Lift out of the garage or wherever it is)

I built the hitch riser with two positions because we used to tow my wife’s JK on 33’s. The upper position works with the 37’s I currently have on the Bronco. Pic of the bumper?
