The tow rig I'm finishing up has a 4" lift which puts the receiver at 31' above the ground. The tongue of the trailer is at +/-19" level without anything on it.
How much drop do you guys think in need for the ball mount?

I have not been able to find anything more than an 8" drop rated for more than 5000lbs.

No biggie if trailer is still a bit tongue high, Use the 8 or 10" drop hitch and just load trailer heavier toward the front

I used to pull an old 63 Shasta, 14 foot camp trailer with my EB (we called it the "Road Ghetto"). The tongue was quite a bit lower than the hitch on the bronco, but it towed just fine. I never pulled it at much over 50 though, because it was a handful to get stopped with the drum brakes and no elec brakes on the trailer:eek:.

You want everything as level as possible to relieve strain on both the trailer and the towing vehicle. I have seen guys that weld/millwright for a living modify them to get level. I don't recommend that though so would just go with the 10" drop hitch. I believe I have seen 12" ones but can't remember where.
