The wife's been hinting that she would like to get a travel trailer so we could start taking weekend trips.
I know nada-damn-thing about RV's. So were looking around the lot the other day & I see they have a Toy Hauler for motorcycles, ATVs etc.
Im thinking..... I may be able to find a Toy Hauler that I could squeeze the EB in..... and that would be awesome.....
Can it be done? Anyone have anything like this? Who makes em'? Thx

There are some of the larger ones that it would probably fit in, but the problem will be the weight of the eb. Most of them I have seen are not rated to carry that much weight.

Paul Cotey from our club has a Featherlite trailer that his bronco fits into. It has bunk beds that swing up out of the way where the bronco goes. full queen like any other 5th wheel. Nice set up.

The only one I have heard about is the one Dusty from WCB owned and sold later. Not sure if he bought another one? I do recall he had it built to his specs for his rig. I beleive it had three axles I think to accomodate the weight of the bronco.

The toy haulers built haul jeeps, broncos and such are three axles and are in the 35-40 ft range. You need a bigger than 1 ton truck to haul them safely. A class C motorhome or larger with a tlr to put the bronc on would prob be a better choice. JMO

The other thing is any kind of lift or taller tires makes a bronco to tall to fit in a standard toy hauler. My EB wont fit in mine...

My uncle had a cumstom built trailer made , front part was 5th wheel camper section , rear was open trailer (with a lift for two race cars stacked).
At any rate , he said it was cheaper to have that made than buy a typical stacker trailer off the lot.
Obviously , we couldn't use the lift part of it , but that would be even cheaper.
As long as height wasn't an issue , I've seen enclosed car haulers (with 8ft doors) that would have plenty of room , especially if it was a 5th wheel type , to put a camper section upfront. IIRC , 24' was the shortest I've seen.
Save some $$$ and build the front section yourself and have it the way you want it.

Here's a few pics of a couple that were at our Wrench & Roast at my place a couple months ago. Not the best pics, but the quickest I could locate.

The silver one is BroncoLoupy on here. It is a 36' or 38' Continental Cargo that he speced and it has full front living quarters.

The white one is a Featherlight owned by Chris Hockett who hauled it all the way from Seattle to my place in PA for the weekend. It is also in the 36'-38' range as I recall and it too has full living quarters. This is a tandem axle, but has heavier axles from what I remember (8K each?)

The red trailer is ours that I had at one time thought of installing a mini-living quarters in. It's a 40' Southwest Expressline with an extra 18" height. We wanted to be able to haul 2 EB's, so there is no way to do that with a full living quarters layout unless it was a 52' (maybe a compact full layout in a 48'). I was going to just do a front corner shower/toilet and maybe a fridge, micro and cooktop on the opposite front corner with some wall cabinets for storage and the bed up on the upper bunk over the hitch. With only 32' of lower deck, that would put the bumper of the front EB right up into the shower and would be even more of a PITA to tie down, so we did not go forward with it. It it was a 44' I would have.

Most Toy Haulers are built too light for EB's, either in axles, or in the strength of the rear door, so be sure you check the specs closely.

One thing I really like about Lou's is that he did not get a beavertail, so his has more rear clearance which is nice going in and out of many of the places we go. He never drages the rear corners like I do with the red one. It makes the ramp steeper, but with 4x4's, who cares?

ToyBox makes some nice ones that will work for a bronco. In most cases that I found it required removing one of the rear queen beds. My jeep is on slightly narrowed full size chevy truck axles and barely fits under the standard garage door opening. It would fit in the ToyBox. You can have them upgrade the rear door/ramp. You also need to pay attention to how they construct the floor. Not all of the manufacturers have full width spans under the flooring. I believe ToyBox was one of the few that did.

You don't have to have a semi to haul them, but you better have at least a 3/4 ton and probably airbags on the rear for the size of trailer you need to haul everything. You also need to consider a storage place for the trailer because the smallest I found that would fit the Jeep/Bronco was a 34'. In reality that actually means more of a 37' bumper pull or 35' fifth wheel.

Lately I've been leaning more towards getting a camper for the rear of the truck and just sticking with the car haul trailer I have now.

I looked for one to fit an EB in and found that you can have them built to your specs from a lot of manufactures. Featherlite ($30K to $60K), Haulmark ($20K and up for starters) are two I liked. They had about a 1 year order to delivery turn around time. I sold the idea to my wife on the fact that it had other uses besides use as a car trailer. I found a 28ft Haulmark bumper pull with 7ft ceiling height and 6200 lb axels. It all went nuts from there as I have added just what I wanted. My direction was to make it able to stand alone and be comfy anywhere. Solar and LP power along with 30 amp 110 VAC service. Red, white, black and stainless or polished aluminum have been the theme for the "USLS Freedom" (United States Land Ship) Bronco Hauler.
Of course I pull it with an xtra full size Bronco and had some good help building it. It helps when you have an army of elves at your disposal.........
I need to put together a detailed build thread to update the progress because like the rest of the Hot Rod projects, they are never really done!

I've looked into toy haulers big enough for a bronco. The problem seems to be the rear door/ramp. There's alot of toy haulers that can handle 5-6k in weight and dimensionally could fit a bronco, but the ramp isn't rated for 5-6k pounds....

My dream trailer would be a 24-28' Haulmark with full kitchen and bathroom in the front and living quarters. My parents have a Sundowner horse trailer with living quarters, and would be almost perfect if only you could get a Bronco in it.

I never sold it, still have it. Its a 28-ft. enclosed. I had it custom built to my specs. It is an all tubular steel chassis and frame, 3X 5K axles with brakes on each axle. I had it built first and foremost as a Bronco hauler, and had the living amenities built into/around those parameters. It has a full size shower (not a dinky RV shower), shitter, kitchennete with cooktop and sink, refrigerator, some cabinets, water heater, etc. Fold-down sofa and dinette both convert to beds. I did not have them install a generator, instead I use one of those quiet little Hondas. It has holding tanks for 80 gallons fresh, 40 black and 40 gray. I think it ended up being around $19K when I bought a few years ago. If anyone wants pics or any advice about having something similar built, let me know.

Jalepeno, the white trailer next to the shop in Broncitis's pics is the one we talked about the on Thurs. night. Chris's Bronco is about the same height as yours, so it should fit. However, you will need a heavier truck and 5th wheel for that one.

I don't think that you need worry about a one year turn around on trailers for awhile .... travel trailer industry is kinda slow right now.

It seems like a lot of you guys are bringing up "toy haulers" , you might think of your bronco as a toy , but it requires a "CAR HAULER" , I see ads for them all the time in my local auto&rv mags .....
Enclosed 24 footers seem to be in the 4500 to 5k range IIRC.
Obviously , if you want them to add living quarters , BIG $$$$ .... but I bet you can get them to deal big time right now ... matter of fact I know you can. They are killing/dying for orders right now.

I have a 23' Coachmen Class C motorhome with a Ford V-10 and it pulls the bronco on a 15' car trailer with no problems. We use a distribution hitch, would not want to tow without it. Only had it for a year and its been to the Fawl Crawl in Harlan, KY, Bronco Super Celebration in Townsend, TN, Broncitis' place near York, PA a couple times, and a few other places with no towing issues. We'll be headed to Harlan in a couple weeks and plan to go to OCBR on 2010, all towing one of the broncos.
