Trail cover ideas and possible interest

A couple of months ago some members were asking if anyone was selling a trail cover like the one saddle up was making. Last year I bought one from a member here but unfortunately it was stolen after only being used once. Ever since then I have seen a few people post up looking for one similar. Someone posted a vender was eventually going to make one. I finally got sick of waiting and decided that I would make one for myself. I work in the garment industry and was going to have it sourced by one of my company's I work for but decided the minimums were going to be too large. After really thinking about it I decided to make it locally first and see if you guys have interest. After what Saddle Up has done to so many people and the state of the economy I think most of us are a little gun shy. Anyhow I finally bought a large amount of denier and decided to just do it. Tomorrow I am going to my friends shop to make the first cover. She works for one of the largest car collectors in the west and specializes in canvas and interiors. If anyone has suggestions on how to make the trail cover better please feel free to post your comments or make suggestions. I should have some photos of the family cage cover done tomorrow night.
Thanks Nick

Make sure the rear straps are long enough for body lifts and wide bumpers.
Mine are at the limits now.
Door flaps should hang below the door jams, that way when trailering with no doors no water gets in.

I have a standard roll bar cover and love it. I've been keeping my eyes open for a family cage cover in the classifieds for my current project. If you can come up with something that is a good product for a decent price I'm sure you won't have trouble staying busy selling them. Good Luck.

I would be interested in one for a full cage. I have one of Rick's for a standard cage but no bronco to use it with currently.

Thanks for the suggestions the straps have been made longer. I test fitted mine with baile built rear bumpers and a 2" body lift and had plenty of strap left. The biggest change that has to be made is making the height of coverage over the windshield longer, and extending the door flaps. Which should give a better fit and more coverage to the bottom of the doors. I am also going to add a panel on each side of the rear of the bronco this is something other people have not done in the past purely based upon trying to keep the price down. I would rather give a better product at a fair price.
I snapped a couple of pics but have not had a chance to download them from my camera. I also want to have some before and after pics with the changes made so you guys can see the difference.
Thanks for the ideas keep them comming.
Nick

I just might be interested in one. I had a chance to get one at a raffle about 2 years ago and passed on it. Now I wish I had it.

Sorry it has taken me a couple of days to respond. The trail covers are done and they fit my cage perfectly. Before I start selling them I would love to see if anyone near the Salt Lake City Area with a family cage is interested in letting me take some photos of it on other cages as well a testing it out. If anyone is heading to Moab or trailering their rig soon please give me a call at 801-550-8291. I will post up pics of the 3 proto types I built so you can see the changes that some people requested.
Thank you
Nick
