Tranny fluid leaking?

My '77 automatic is leaking tranny fluid. I can fill her up and in a couple of days when I go to drive it...it is like it is in Neutral when I shift to 1,2, or D. I can add fluid and it'll do just fine. Is there an easy way to replace a gasket, etc..without pulling the entire tranny? Let me know a solution. Also..how can I change the filter inside the tranny? Is it a tough job?

Thanks Much,
