Those of us looking for OD 5 speeds in the mid 80's looked at or tried the T5's and they died ... quickly. Torque killed them I reckon. Those were with 302's and 289's. I remember spending a lot of time back then trying to justify a 5 spd OD (T5).

Jeep parts?
T5 in the V8 flavor has way too tall of an overdrive. The gears don't take torque and traction. Ford even passed on it when they did the supercharged V6 Thunderbird. You will have more torque and traction. That T5 would just go boom.
All CJ's are passenger drop. Not Jeep.

S10 was driver drop.

The Eagle used the same trans as the CJ but with a driver drop t-case. It would have been a single speed but a Cherokee 231 can be swapped. The manual Eagles are were not common though.

I believe the this is from a S10. They had a 5 bolt t-case instead 6 like AMC/Jeep.
