Transfer Case Cover Screws

might just be stupid here, but i backed off all the stews that hold down the transfer case cover but can’t get them out what am i missing here?? Maybe rigged? probably tough to get to the underside…

Sounds like the screws are being held in the case cover. I would hope that someone would not have tapped the cover and case at the same time to put in bigger bolts.
Are the screws loose in the cover? Clean the cover, screws, and holes really well and see if there is debris on the screws stopping the screw from clearing the cover hole.

the cover is off can’t get the screws out

How do you get the cover off without removing the bolts? Or are you saying the bolts are backed out and the cover is loose, moving between the transfer case and bolt heads? And for some reason you can't get the bolts to fully unthread from the transfer case housing?

i cut the old cover it was junk
