Transfer case position in nv3550 swap

The transfer case was put back Close to the OE position after swapping my 76 to the nv3550. It hangs down into about the 7 o'clock position. The front drive shaft hits the cross member support and the yoke sits a few inches above the cross member support.

Should it have been moved up to the 8 o'clock position? I have read where some people have used the narrower cross member bracket from Tom's broncos and it fixed their problems. I don't wanna pull this thing again and start over. I've already ran my exhaust.

Any help is appreciated

I have the same problem. Wondering what you did to fix the clearance issues. Thank you Huge!

When I originally installed mine it cleared with no issues. I had to replace a throw out bearing and when I reinstalled the trans and TC it no longer cleared the cross member. I checked and the t-case was clocked in the same position, so I don't know what the deal was. I ended up grinding back about an inch of material from the cross member where the c/v joint was hitting so it cleared. That's what I did any way.

I had no problems with my conversion, but I do remember the transfer case clocking options. I went with the stock position, but there were other options.

I did the conversion for a customer of mine and I had to order the Toms crossmember to make it not interfere with the front driveshaft
