Why are rims like my Western 15 x 10 rims called "Turbine"?

My guess airplane turbine jet engine front view.

The one's posted a few above are Hurricane rims. Very beautiful design.

And EYE think I can figure why they are called HURRICANES.

For those that didn't see the discussion in the classified's sections, the Hurricanes I have are 15x8.5, NOT 15x10. I apologize!

To clarify the manufacturer of what you have pictured is Western Wheels and the model is called Hurricanes, correct.

American Racing makes the Vector wheel which is what was on the General Lee in the Dukes of Hazzard.

No, mine posted above a Western wheels is my guess. Got no clue on the name, but looking at them they look like an AIRPLANE TURBINE ENGINE FRONT VIEW. Hence TURBINE.

A wheel pic posted above by Revelation looks like a top view of a Hurricane with eye in middle. So I guess those are HURRICANE.

Wow and I was going to scrap mine......and talk my son out his slots. Maybe the price of Turbines are going up........better keep them now.
