twin stick dana 20 J shift install question?

Do i need to drop my T case to cut a notch in the shift rails? The hole I'm currently working with is pictured. If i have to make the hole bigger no worries as I was going to make an access panel to cover it back up

I cut mine from the topside, but I had a bigger access panel than what you currently have.

Maybe.....Either way the stock shifter has to come off so once you get that off, you can see if the "flags" are accessible or if you need to cut more.

Mine was out when I installed twins......
