does anybody regret installing one of these in your bronco? only thing i'd miss is the extra ventilation when the top and doors are on, but i have my bikini top and tube doors on all summer. it would be nice to have a place for fluids under the hood though. also, has anybody had cearance problems with a steel hood? i know it's close.

No regrets here. I cram-pack the thing as much as I can.;D
I installed it when I first got the bronco so I don't know how the vent worked before hand.
The only thing I do not like about it is the finish. I guess the maker is expecting the buyer to prime and paint it.
I have the factory steal hood and no problems. There may be an issue with hood hitting the cover and leaving some small marks after I paint it, but thats being picky.

I hit it with my foot every so often when pressing the clutch.
Other then that, its fine.
I have had it so long, I forgot what was in it though...........

I love mine. No clearance problems with the hood, I've never kicked it(size 14's) but I can understand it is possible, and I like the finish-flat black-no need to paint it (since it is black you can't see it looking in thru the hood vents-it's like nothing is there) I've got a 12pc wrench set rapped up in a pouch and a quart of oil in my box.

I put one in my wife's rig and I think its an awesome product. No regrets at all. Oh, here's a tip for those who don't live in wet weather (who probably want a weathertight seal). Don't bother bolting the thing down. Just slip it in and leave it there. Then its easy to pull out whenever you need to get in there to mess with wiring or other stuff behind the dash on that side.

good call dusty. BTW, did john tell you i called him?

I think he did say something about it but I was so swamped I wasn't paying much attention to him and I didn't realize it was you he was talking about until you mentioned it here.

I like having my vent, so I wouldn't buy that.
I think I'm gonna end up bolting in one or two ammo cans somewhere instead.

I have a 'glass hood so those vents have to access to the outside. I need to put something like this in and try and seal it from the hot engine air that comes in.

The drivers side one goes to the vent on the firewall. Where does the passenger side one go? Is that where your heater gets it's fresh air?

Where do you get these at again?

For the second time today, I'm with Ugly.

I've got a tacklebox, yep, the plastic fishing kind, bolted to my wheel well on the passenger side under the hood in the 71. I cleaned it up and sealed it so no water would get trapped under there and its full of all kinds of extra wires and fluids and fuel filters, etc. etc.

The PO had a metal box bolted there, but it was rusting out the wheel well and the box itself, so I pull it out, cleaned up the rust and put in the plastic tackle box.

I had the same kind of thing in mine. A metal fishing tackle box with all kind of spare nuts and bolts in it. Took that out when I cut part of my wheel wells so I'd have a place to put the stuff I had bolted to it.

there's hope for you yet! %) or it could possibly be a sign of mental instability;D

I think it just goes to show how awesome we are.

The tacklebox works good because all the lil compartments hold different kinds of things. And if a project goes overnight (or two or four nights, okay months...) I just put the bolts I need for what I'm doing in the top and close the lid. That way I know exactly where they are and they don't roll around or get lost. Similarly, when I find a random bolt in the driveway, I stick it in there because there only ONE vehicle that random bolts fall off of at my house. :p

I went the box on the wheel well route, don't want to give up the vent. Either way, the engine bay is a good place to squirrel parts and tools away.
