Upper Door Seals (weatherstripping)

Already had new lower door seals when i purchased my POS.

Had to take advantage of all the black friday deals, so amongst other items, I purchased new upper door seals. Problem is I have no hardtop. I was debating on cutting the windshield part of the seal off, installing it to windshield, then gluing the upper door and rear door part to the door using windshield adhesive..thoughts??

What have you guys done out there with no hardtop (I do have a softop, but like to go topless as much as possible)

i run both but havent gone topless since my new door seal install. i plan to cut the upper seal and leave it on the hardtop. my original seal was cut by the PO and it looked just fine. i used 3m black super weatherstrip adhesive and its awesome.

Cut the upper seal at the top of the windshield frame. Don't glue any of the rest to the door, it goes on the hard top that you don't have. You don't need the seal with the soft top. The top seals pretty good on the door, I think having weather stripping in there would make it worse.

We actually sell just the windshield section for just this reason. Probably not worth returning a full seal and ordering up just the front section, as the costs would not likely work out. Just cut 'em and have fun.

It's what most do when they remove their hard tops for the first time anyway. Cut the 1-piece top door seal, and cut the 1-piece rear lift-gate/tailgate seal.
And cutting the rear tailgate seal retainer/calf-slasher strips at the same time is energy well spent!
