Do you need to swap valve covers when doing an efi swap or can you modify the old ones. I guess it really doesn't matter but it would save me a trip to the pull and pay.

I have the explorer intake and the gt mustang (1991) covers and there is a problem between oil filler/cap and throttle body intake.

The old ones are probably too tall on a 302, depending on the intake you use. EFI covers are shorter and have the correct single opening for the fill hole. 302 EFI intakes have a dedicated port for the PCV valve so that's one valve cover hole less you would need.

I thought of that, but what about EGR and throttle cables. I do not want a EGR, and I think you can disable it and trick the computer. but the cables I need.

Viperwolf, have you done this? if yes please get me some pics.

You have a couple options if you get rid of the elbow. You can use a car type EGR spacer like I have (I'm using EGR). You don't need to hookup the EGR valve to anything. You can also buy or make a thin (1/4") spacer to take the place of the EGR spacer. Either way you should probably block the EGR port in the lower manifold if you have it. I've even seen some systems where the throttle body is bolted directly to the upper.

I don't know what you're using for cables but the BC EFI cables are hard to beat.
