Has anyone seen a set of vent windows minus the glass or does anyone make a complete reburb kit? Is it even worth it to piece it back together or buy a new set of vent windows? Thanks...

I think most of the vendors have the replacement hinge/pivot/gasket pieces. Full replacements are $$$$ if that gets you motivated to go the DIY route!

Why not rebuild yours? It's really easy. The biggest issue is usually putting in the brass that hold in the vent seal. I've been using plain old pop-rivets successfully on all my early Fords.

I've given it thought. If I could find a vendor that sold a "vent window rebuild kit" and not piece meal it. I know I need new felt, window seals, and pivot pins. I'm sure I'm overlooking other parts needed to refurbish the windows.

I started disassembling the vent windows. The metal channels that the window felt sits in are rusted.

I doubt they're rusted. They're made of stainless. The backing for the felt is steel and has probably rust stained the channels. Clean them with a small stainless wire brush and steel wool.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it looks like rust to me. Whatever the part is called that fits into the chrome/stainless channel, is the part I need.
