Download the form from the dmv website and take your rig to the local PD or Highway patrol, they do vin verifications in CA. My PD sent their community service officer to my house to do my 75 EB when it came in from Texas, as I told them it was not running. I took my Montana purchased Superduty P/U to the local PD station and was done in 20 minutes.
Now both cases they used the vin tag (glovebox/dash) No one looked at the frame...
