• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

I have a friend looking for a Land Rover Defender and thought I would see if anyone has any good leads or one for sale. They seem pretty open on color, options, etc. The only real issue would be rust.

Please PM me.

Thanks

Tell him to go try a Land Rover dealership. I've seen the one on Kirkwood Hwy with them for sale from time to time. Like the OP said, tell him to get ready to spend some coin. I remmeber about ten years ago they were bringing more $$ then when they were new.

Thanks, I could have bought two cheap a few years back. Now that he is looking everything seems crazy or way across the country.

I think the frames are the things that rust, they also seem to have a lot of mechanical and electric issues. He is hoping to find a private person sale instead of a used car dealer just looking to make a quick buck (not many of want to buy Broncos from dealers for the same issues).

I used to have one, the firewall and frames (rear crossmember especially) are the major rust areas. Door bottoms also rust. Then there is the issue of where the aluminum from the rear tub, door skins and front "wing" panels come into contact with steel.
Ones in good shape are still $18K and up but beaters have come down in price to around $10k. The NAS (North American Spec) trucks are the ones that get the most money. Due to the 25 yr import rule people can get ROW (rest of world) trucks for less, but again beware for rust. Most NAS trucks are now over 100k in miles. Check D-90 source http://www.d-90.com/. Best place and people for things related to the rover 90s and 110s. For additional info regarding restored rovers and pictures of what to look for go to ECR.com
