So what color would the stock steel wheel be on a 1975 bronco? Were they all Wimbledon white?

My understanding is that sometime around 74-75 Ford switched to a grey wheel (not argent). My Jan 74 build Ranger came with Wimbledon White Wheels.

Well that's interesting. Any pictures of the stock gray color? is it light or dark? I got a set of stock steel wheels for my lubr I want to paint but don't know what color? They are black now but need paint.

I'd go Wimbledon White if you're going to go with out hub caps. White steelies look the best. If you're putting on hub caps then either color will work but the grey is probably more "correct".

Stock grey wheels

Here’s a pic from a July ‘74 build date. Definitely on the lighter side.

Thanks guys. I have a set of hub caps, but not sure If I will run them. So I think I will paint them white for now. The truck is already gray and I think it may be too much gray if I paint the wheels gray too. Now I got to find some wimbledon white around here.

Evan, check my avatar pic. We had the stock rims powder coated to match Wimbledon white. I really like it on the green truck.

Not trying to be rude ep, but I kind of think it's funny that you even asked.

"What color should 75 wheels be?"
'Grey'
"Oh, well I'm painting mine white!"

LOL
All good man, it's your Bronco!

I hear you! Just wanted to know what was correct. I am new to the more stock correct bronco idea. All of mine have been modified so what was stock didn't matter much. The only reason I am thinking white over gray is because the truck is already gray and it may end up looking like a military bronco in all that gray. But I may also put the stock hub caps on so then the gray would look fine. I still haven't made up my mind.

White matches the grill n matching is cool. That's why girls pick out matching outfits.

I believe I may have located the correct color code for the Ford gray we've been looking for. Found in Mustangattitude.com was a spreadsheet that listed 1975/Ford/Ford Truck/Gray, specifically states Van and Pickup Wheel Color. The Ford code is M5295, I believe the PPG color is 33175. I had a sample made up and it appears to be the exact match to the grays shown above and the gray on one of my four wheels. Hope this helps.
