Matt - thats sharp! Is it a gloss spray paint or did you clear it?

It’s a gloss spray paint and I didn’t clear coat it. The Aluminum paint is kind of weird. If I rub it, it turns a deeper shade of silver. If I had to do it over, I’d go with a straight silver paint.

I didn’t expect it to be so shiny. I was going for a stainless-colored silver. When I first painted it, it almost looked like chrome.

I'd say silver or white if you want a classic style pop to it. If you want to go a little louder a yellow would pop out really nicely against the blue but you'd want more than just your cage that color. That way it could be aesthetically tied into the rest of your truck.

I used the Rustoleum Hammered in black, and it looks like gunmetal gray. I think it looks great (even though I don't have it installed yet :p ).

Update - paint is finished!

Went with Rustoleum Hammered Silver and brushed it on with a foam brush. Turned out great and looks awesome! The base of the paint is a metallic silver with black "krinkles" in it. It laid down real nice, barely any runs and looks very good. Thanks for all the comments and ideas guys.
