What does a bad instrument voltage regulator look like

Did you figure it out? I’m having the same problem. All dead but the alt gauge. Blinkers and gauge lights all work, but no gauges. I grounded the wires at the senders to see if there was any movement, but they just sit still.
Fuses are good. Everything else seems fine.
Just no voltage? How do you check? While in dash or take it out?
Where is the IVR located? Under dash? Under hood?

Well... I did fix it. The power to the IVR originally came from the ignition switch. HOWEVER when I removed my switch, I see that Centch provides power to the IVR from its fuse panel... Going to my fuse panel I saw that the fuse was not seated properly. Apparently it was in enough to make contact but not enough to provide proper power.... Hours and hours wasted on a dam loose fuse!!!!!

I did all my checks with the gages removed but still hooked up. The only thing you have to make sure is that it is grounded.

Funny you mention that-my radio was randomly going off last summer and it was the fuse holder in the Centech panel. Pinched it so the fuse was tight in the holder. I have had other fuses get knocked loose by crap in the glovebox:p

Glad you fixed it. One less issue to deal with at the roundup%)%)
