I am about to pull the body off of my 76 bonco and I have an electronic lift that can lift up to 880 pounds.

so my question is will it be able to lift the body? i would think so the front clip is off as well as the hood. I was going to leave the tailgate and doors in for support....

2 or 3 guys can lift a body like that pretty easy so id say you should be able to lift it with your lift no problem. A lot of people lift them with engine hoists.

One person can do it. Here's how. Just make sure to brace the door and tailgate areas after removing them. You'll drop a lot of weight by removing all pieces prior to the tub removal.

3-4 guys can lift it temporarily to move it around and 1 person can lift a corner at a time. Remove doors, fenders, tailgate and hood and you are probably looking at 5-600 lbs, maybe a little less than 500....full line-x adds a little more weight. Your lift SHOULD be OK, but your strapping/rigging harness will need to be set up properly as mentioned above.

To lift 800 lbs, you would only have to take off the top...BRACE THE BODY WELL!!!!!! just make sure you unhook all wires, brake lines, steering, linkages etc, brace the body and ssssllllooowwwwllllyyy begin lifting, lift a couple inches, walk around and check it all out and lift some more, this is how we did mine with the tractor.
