What Hood Shocks To Use With Fiberglass Hood

I have a fiberglass hood and want to use some of the hood shocks the venders supply but I would like to maybe get them from the Auto Parts Store in town. This way if I ever need to replace one I can just pick up another one. Has anyone done this and what did you get? I know there are tons of different ones out there but I don't want to get one that is to strong and risk cracking the hood over time.
