I personally have a 75 half cab there now. My project has been going on for 4 years. I personally don't have much time in the project, nor have had luck with local shops doing what they promised. I'm just looking for hope and a peace of mind that one day I might be able to enjoy what I've spent tons of money on.

At first glance it sounds like you have had it at BAB for 4 years. More careful reading looks like the project has been ongoing for 4 years between your work & local shops, but that it recently went to BAB. Is that correct?

I posted earlier wanting to know members feelings on Build A Bronco. As stated, I have my Bronco there. At present time my Bronco has a new 331 motor, new C-6, rebuilt Dana 20, rebuilt front and rear ends with lockers, new drive shafts, Duff 5.5" lift and 95% of the body work completed. I had the body removed and the frame sand blasted and painted. The truck needs to be finished. In this state I had the Bronco delivered to BAB. Having said all that BAB has not touched it, but gave me a quote to finish it for $30,000. I'm not trying to bad mouth anyone, but just wondering if this sound like a deal or should I rethink things?

Without seeing and knowing what all it needs to be "finished", it would be hard to say if the $30K number is long or short??? But you need to read what half cab posted!!! Good Luck!!

Any good quality build with nothing too fancy from start to finish will cost you somewhere north of $70k. I think BAB estimate is probably pretty close.

That estimate was labor and paint not counting parts. I originally wanted a perfect Bronco when I started 4 years ago, but at this point I want it finished or sold. I've already invested around $40,000 with parts I've bought and labor at local shops. The madness needs to end somewhere. I know I'm a DUMB ASS so please be nice.

I figure I'll have in the $60K range into mine once I'm done. I did a good amount of work myself and wen't pretty high-end on most everything but not exotic (no stroker, atlas or overdrive). If I paid a shop I'd be well into six figures.

As for the quality of BAB's work? I've had zero work done by them and no first hand encounters but it seems to be hit or miss. I look at them like a contractor, if you don't let them get away with cutting corners you'll get what you want. But that means showing up daily or at least weekly at their shop and checking on the work and pointing out what's not right. That goes for a lot of shops.

Now, I've also never had any experience with Nick's Trix BUT I'd send my truck there in a heartbeat if I were looking for a one-stop Bronco shop. His reputation precedes him. I've never heard a bad word spoken. Every build is detailed on his sight and even though they are all not my taste they all seem to be well built. And that says it all for me. I'd still check on it in person though.

I really appreciate the feedback from everybody. As I mentioned earlier I'm not bad mouthing anyone, nor did I intend to cause a conflict.

ken, you have not caused conflict. the guys on the board are the best, they can be brutally honest sometimes, but in the end they mean well. i would suggest you spend an evening searching on this site about BAB. You are not a DA for chasing a dream, the guys will help you realize that dream. Let us know if you have a problem finding threads on BAB.
