What recourse do I have with this guy and a deal gone bad?

Sounds like Nowax is a little pushy and demanding!!! Treating a seller like he is Amazon.com and should have your item in the mail in five minutes deserves a canceled sale. 77 was likely picturing the whining that would ensue when you got the top and don't blame him one bit. You're coming on here and flaming him simply confirms his suspicions. Learn from this Nowax!

Hit the nail on the head.

Yep...sounds like a clear case of jumping off the deep end for no reason at all...it happens sometimes when you only have 30 posts....;) Start over a little more conservative with less name calling and two thousand post from now no one (but twisted77)will remember this!

Well, unfortunately I'm new here and don't have the luxury of building good positive relationships yet and I'm clearly out gunned. I was asking about my recourse, not flaming the Guy. Consider this closed. Thanks again

Opening this type of thread was probably the worst thing you could have done with regard to a "recourse". Take it as a learning experience.

Yeah, let's all pick on the new guy! He only joined last month and doesn't even have 1000 posts yet! He must not know anything about Broncos. Oh wait, this isn't Pirate.

I'm not taking sides but if you're advertsing parts for sale, you should be prepared to ship them. This is directed at anyone who is selling parts. If you're buying and want it fast, you better make sure the seller knows it and is willing/able to get them shipped within your timeline. If not, buy somewhere else.

Well,
I know for a fact this is a first for me. Someone complaining that they got their money back.
I have bought and sold on here for years with no trouble. Sometimes I've had to wait a while, and sometimes others have gratuitously waited on me. Like Fordfan and Sustmo. But I've always kept in contact with everyone and things were always friendly.
Now this instance is totally different. He was pushy on the price from the start so I said I would keep it, then he agreed to the price. Got irritated after I didn't send it the next day after I told him it would be the following weekend. So I figured with a fellow being new here and not BRONCO brotherhood minded. And looking at his past comments, I figured best bet to refund all the money. This actually cost me 16.00 in PayPal fees. Agreed price was 550 as a gift I received 534.00 or close to it. I refunded all of his 550.00. And as I did I sent a message explaining why I was doing so. Unlike what everyone was told. ( still have the sent messages) if anyone would like to see.

Thanks to everyone for the support and kind words.

Bryce.

I think this thread needs to be locked and hopefully everybody will make amends with each other.
Like somebody else posted this is not pirate, so there you have it.
Peace

My $.02..

you sell parts , they should be packed and ready to ship when the money arrives, or have it noted shipping is 4-6 weeks..

why does it matter if it the guys first post of 30K post a price was agreed upon and payment was made.

You mean IF the money arrives. Takes a lot of effort to pack some things and packing tape ain't cheap these days :p

But generally, should be packing it up and getting it out within a couple days unless you negotiate different.

I have an X for sale. $10 plus shipping. Packed and ready to go, so don't ask for pics. I will be on vacation from July 31 - August 9, so no shipping in that time frame. Also my wife is pregnant, expect a three day time period where I can't ship it, but I don't know the exact days.

Seems a little excessive. As little as this happens, don't think we need "rules" on shipping. Let the seller and buyer deal with it. This is a big non issue.

The difference is being a COMMERCIAL seller or some guy with extra parts in his garage. If you are a commercial seller...then yes, stuff should be packed ready to go when payment arrives.

If you are buying parts from a guy in a garage...expect anything to happen from getting ripped off to all the stuff graniteguy mentioned above...to getting your part quickly and cheap.

I know that it often takes me a long time to dig out some of my parts. I have them in several locations and some are stacked in crates with literally thousands of pounds of other parts stacked on top.

I often pass digging out parts when I see them on the wanted classifieds, just cause I know I will have an hour or two of moving stuff so I can get the forklift in and pull crates off the racks.

When people contact me for parts, I try to tell them it may be X amount of time until I can get to them.

We all have lives and lots of other stuff going on. If someone tells you up front what their timeline is for shipping a part, you can either accept it, or pass and look elsewhere.

The deal didn't go bad. He called no joy and refunded your money. Also gave you some good advice on where to go to get a good deal. What do you do when you order something from a big retailer and it is on back order forever or doesn't come? I respect the guy for doing what he did because he could not follow through.

I think there's a defining difference between "being disappointed" and "being burned" The buyer in this case is disappointed, but was by no means burned, so I would see no justification for any recouse. Twisted did the right thing, he was honest and refunding the money. IMO Count your blessings and be thankful. If you are really disappointed, read some threads from bbow and obscuremachine on thier broncos, it will probablly change your mind
