what to use for the windshield hinge seal

so is a factory style seal the best or does using some generic truck canopy weatherstripping the best thing to use?
just trying to keep this bronco dry and leak free maybe some huggies....

I used the stock one for mine, but the other day while installing my flares I noticed the rubber welt for Bushwacker flares is very close to a stock windshield seal.

I don't think it will work any better, just a thought that may save a few bucks.
