What would you pay for a good hardtop?

I know a lot of people remove them and don't like them but if you're in the camp that does, what have you seen them going for? Like one without rust and solid paint.

Thanks, this one local to me was originally listed for $3800 and they are flexible below that but so far only to $2500, which still seems pretty high.

You're welcome - anytime. Wow, for that price, I would think it would be show quality or darn close. Also at that price range I would consider a Bronco Designs fiberglass hardtop - no more rust in the drip rails !!! His reputation here on CB is stellar, so there is super quality for your money and several options to tailor it to your own tastes and/or needs.

I just tried to post a link to Bronco Designs website for you here but it is down at the moment. Corey confirms that on his facebook page too. If you scroll down to June 16, 2017 (on Bronco Design facebook), he has some photos and a description; apparently the sides cab be removed and turned into a safari top.

Anyway... probably more than you wanted to know and I'm killing time day-dreaming about Bronco Land.

I have $3900 in my top including sliding side glass, seals, headliner, nice new paint

$3000 plus is not to much for a good one.

One with no work, little rust I have seen for up to $2000

I think we all question why they sell for so much. I'm currently refinishing a used top I purchased for my "roll over" project, and can tell you it's not cheap to refinish even a non-rusted top.

Used roof $500. (complete roof/glass/rear hatch)
Gas to drive 120 miles across LA to pick up the used roof
Three new glass seals $150 ($45 each plus shipping)
Roof weather strip reseal set $110
Gallon epoxy primer $120
Gallon of hi build primer $120
Quart of Wimbledon White $110
Miscellaneous welding and bondo supplies $25.

That's $1135 in material cost, no labor.

Fortunately I was able to reuse some of my old original roof parts to save some money.

Based on my limited experience, $1500 to $2000 for a "nice un-rusted" roof would not be out of line.

They are all expensive and add shipping costs to it makes them unreachable in my budget. I'm better off getting a new top from our vendors.

I sold one that was dam near perfect about 5 years back for $1,000. It had all new window seals fresh paint and no rust. Even had a fully functioning lift gate. They pop up time to time. Post an add in parts wanted section maybe someone will see it near you and reply. Certainly wouldn't want to ship one.
