What's best option for EFI throttle linkage?

I'm still using a cable throttle with my stock pedal.

https://bcbroncos.com/shop/fuel/efi/11-81020-efi-throttle-cable-and-bracket-for-early-bronco/

Not getting the full range of the throttle open between closed and open. It seems like I have to choose between staying partial open to be able to get wide open throttle when I press the go pedal or I have to choose fully closed and get only maybe 2/3 open when I depress the accelerator.

Is there a latest and greatest option?

It looks like your throttle cable may be in the wrong hole. Any hole you can chose that is closer to the manifold will shorten the travel of the throttle plate and you will get more open/close. Also, if you move the nub where the cable attaches closer to the hinge, this will also shorten then travel. Good luck man, nobody likes not being able to drive at WOT.

Here’s a pic of mine. Kinda dark, but you can see that the cable attaches to the throttle body near the middle of the angle attachment piece. LMK if you want better pics.

I think you're right Mitche11, I will get more travel if I move it closer to the center of the manifold. i might swap the c4 kickdown cable location with the throttle cable location to see how that works.

Have you done the Viperwolf progressive throttle mod? It gave my throttle full travel with the stock pedal. I did drill a new hole in the mounting bracket to line up the cable better. Cost was $6 for parts and very easy to do.

I'll be looking for a throttle cable soon too

Found the Duff and WH cables and brackets but they're listed for mustang EFI, not sure if they'll work with the explorer

Duff's looks like it might work

Z Bronco, do you have a link or more info on the Viperwolf progressive throttle mod?

I took the cable and pedal from a 95 Mustang (same as my EFI donor). I had to shorten it a bit and then move the pivot to get a nice throw to the pedal. Took some trial and error and I had to be super careful welding it to avoid melting the bushings. I like the nice grippy pedal and it is slender leaving room in the foot box.
